Crude oil futures declined on Monday, tracking weakness in international oil prices.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), crude oil contracts for October delivery fell Rs 138, or 1.5 per cent, to Rs 9,085 per barrel. The contract recorded a business turnover of 7,063 lots.
The decline came as traders reduced their positions amid subdued demand in the domestic spot market.
International crude benchmarks also traded lower. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude declined 1.69 per cent to USD 98.60 per barrel, while Brent crude fell 1.59 per cent to USD 102.22 per barrel in New York.
