EaseMyTrip has rolled out electric buses in Bhopal through its electric mobility arm, Easy Green Mobility (EMTev), as it works towards developing annual manufacturing capacity of 5,000 electric buses over the next five years under its Vision 2030 roadmap.
The company plans to build an integrated electric mobility business spanning vehicle manufacturing, fleet operations, service support and progressive localisation of components. EMTev’s operating arm, YOLO Bus, currently operates conventional intercity buses across several southern Indian markets.
The Bhopal rollout marks an expansion of EMTev’s electric bus manufacturing and operating business, with the immediate focus on fulfilling committed deliveries and developing the service and operational infrastructure required for expansion.
EMTev Targets 5,000-Bus Annual Manufacturing Capacity
EMTev’s initial portfolio includes a 12-metre electric seater coach with a 45+D seating configuration. The vehicle uses a 423.9 kWh LFP battery and a PMSM motor, and is equipped with air suspension, EBS with ESC braking and EHPS steering.
The bus has a stated range of up to 350 km and a top speed of up to 100 km per hour. Its LFP battery pack uses liquid cooling and supports fast charging through a dual-gun configuration. The fixed-battery system is designed for charging at designated locations.
The buses also feature camera-based monitoring alongside EBS and ESC systems. Vehicle and battery data can be continuously monitored through a centralised control tower to identify potential operational issues before deployment.
EMTev is developing AI-enabled driver monitoring and blind-spot detection capabilities, while Advanced Driver Assistance Systems form part of its broader technology roadmap.
The company's 12-metre and 13.5-metre electric bus models have received type approval.
