Oyster Renewable Energy has commissioned the first operational phase of a 10 MW ground-mounted solar power project for Aster Medcity in Kerala, with full commissioning planned in subsequent phases.
The project, located at Ambalathara and adjoining villages in Hosdurg Taluka of Kasargod district, is expected to generate around 17.7 million units of renewable electricity annually. It is designed to meet more than 90 per cent of Aster Medcity’s total energy requirement through captive renewable power.
Aster DM Quality Care has invested Rs 3.87 crore in the project. Power will be supplied through Oyster Green Hybrid Two Private Ltd, in which the Aster Group holds a 26 per cent equity stake. The facility uses bifacial solar modules and has been designed to supply power for Aster Medcity’s round-the-clock operations. Once fully operational, the project is expected to avoid around 23,138 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Renewable Power For Healthcare Operations

Bhatia added that the project is expected to abate approximately 23,138 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
