Oyster Renewable has signed a binding term sheet with Kutch Chemical Industries Limited to supply 25.2 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable power in Gujarat under a captive structure. The project will combine 25.2 MW of wind capacity with 27.72 MWp of solar capacity to provide renewable electricity to Kutch Chemical’s operations. It will be Oyster Renewable’s third project in Gujarat.

Project To Generate Over 1.08 Lakh MWh Annually

Once operational, the wind-solar hybrid project is expected to generate more than 1,08,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually. The project is estimated to avoid around 85,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The captive structure is designed to provide Kutch Chemical with firm renewable power by combining wind and solar generation. Hybrid projects can provide a more consistent generation profile than standalone wind or solar installations by using the complementary generation patterns of the two technologies.

The agreement comes amid increasing adoption of captive and hybrid renewable power by commercial and industrial consumers seeking to meet their electricity requirements through clean energy sources.
