ACME Solar Holdings has commissioned the second phase of the battery energy storage system (BESS) attached to its firm and despatchable renewable energy project at Kelan village in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The newly commissioned Phase II comprises 52.32 MW/209.28 MWh of storage capacity. The commercial operation date for the project is September 19, 2026.
The capacity has been commissioned through ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACME Solar. Following the latest addition, the subsidiary has commissioned a cumulative 105.95 MW/423.80 MWh of BESS capacity as part of the 300 MW/1,200 MWh FDRE project. The project has a power purchase agreement with SJVN Limited, while REC Limited is providing long-term financing.
Storage Capacity Expands At Bikaner Project
The latest commissioning follows the first phase of battery storage capacity brought online by ACME Greentech Seventh earlier in September. The company had commissioned 53.63 MW/300 MWh of BESS capacity under Phase I of its 300 MW/1,581 MWh FDRE project at the same location in Kelan village, Bikaner.
The storage systems form part of ACME Solar’s firm and despatchable renewable energy portfolio, which combines renewable generation with battery storage to enable electricity supply beyond periods of immediate renewable generation.
