Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has secured domestic and international orders worth more than Rs 985 crore, strengthening its order pipeline across solar and battery energy storage projects.
The company has secured an order for a 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan from a new customer. The project involves a Balance of System package.
SWREL has also won an international order in South Africa covering two battery energy storage system projects of 308 MWh each, representing a combined storage capacity of 616 MWh. The contract is from a repeat customer, a Middle East-based renewable energy project developer.
The South African contract is a turnkey EPC project and represents the second-largest utility-scale battery energy storage project undertaken by SWREL.
The Rajasthan project, meanwhile, is expected to avoid approximately 0.80 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions after commissioning, according to the company.
Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, said the orders demonstrated customer confidence in the company's project execution capabilities and domain expertise.
The latest contracts expand SWREL's presence across both conventional solar EPC and the rapidly growing battery energy storage segment.
